I would have to say that this is a pretty big number. “3,000,000″. Is Microsoft’s cloud this big yet?

Just a small plug for Google.

A simple answer can be stated as “Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, like electricity” *Quoted from Wikipedia

As you deal with companies that are offering this type of initiative remember sometimes you get what you pay for, and sometimes you do not. Read the fine lines, or more precisly make sure what you are being offered is what you want and need.

The cost of using other (i.e.: The Company offering you their cloud) servers and networks may not be the most cost effective solution for all. Take time, do not be bullied into this new technology. Now this is my opinion, and I am all for “Cloud Computing”; I just need to know how secure, safe, reliable & accessible my data is.

In setting up an old PC to be a Dumb Terminal with VMware View Client 4.5 I ran into an issue where the older PC was at one time able to pass Audio over PCoIP but not now. It turned out to be that the drivers for audio needed to be loaded onto the base OS. What I found using “Uncle Google” was a similar situation on the VMware Forums with a Thin Client.  “VMWware Communities Thread”

So as a note to self and others remember if audio does not work at your terminal how is it going to be heard from the Virtual Desktop or Virtual Server.
